Stanlib investment manager changes

Hlelo Giyose, Head of Value Equities, (pictured) who has been with Stanlib for four years, has announced his resignation to pursue a new opportunity in the industry. Two of his team members, Bonolo Magoro and Aadila Manjra have also resigned.

A Stanlib announcement from CEO Thabo Dloti says due to these resignations the company has made new appointments. Shawn Stockigt, currently responsible for Small and Medium Capitalization at Stanlib will take over as the Head of Value Equities and the Shariah funds.

Stockigt brings with him a long and experienced career in the asset management industry of 16 years, including portfolio management and investment research with Sanlam Asset Management, Gryphon and Abvest.

The company has also announced the appointment of two new members of the investment team. Lieketseng Pitse joins the industrial and small capitalisation team with effect from August 1st. She has 12 years experience in various roles in portfolio management and research and will be working with sector heads Shawn Stockigt and Theo Botha. She previously worked with ABSA asset management where she was an industrial research analyst and before that BOE asset management. She holds a BComm accounting degree from Unisa.

Theresa Heath joined Stanlib on July 1st. She previously worked with Newton Asset Management in London as both a global research analyst and assistant portfolio manager for five years. She has had research experience in a number of sectors including global transport sector, tobacco, luxury goods, general retail and food. She will be joining the industrials team in her role as industrials analyst. Theresa has a BA honours from Rhodes university and CFA qualification.
