Fund Overview

Objective: The Nedgroup Investments Rainmaker fund seeks to follow an investment policy which will aim to achieve superior medium-to long-term capital growth through careful stock selection and exposure to selected themes within the equity market, both locally and abroad.

Benchmark: Unit Trust Mean (General equity sector)

Universe: Securities will be in financially sound companies and may be either large, medium or small cap stocks, selected predominantly from all sectors of the JSE, also allowing for offshore investments as legislation permits.

Preferred Liquidity Level: Nedgroup's view is that investors invest in this fund for equity exposure; equity exposure therefore ranges between 85% and 100%.

Other: The Nedgroup Investments Rainmaker Fund is the result of a merger of two funds, the African Harvest Rainmaker Fund and the FTNIB Prime Select Fund. Investors in the FTNIB Prime Select Fund have had their units transferred into the 'R' class of the Nedgroup Investments Rainmaker fund, while investors in the African Harvest Rainmaker Fund have had their units transferred into the 'A' class of the Nedgroup Investments Rainmaker Fund. Tim Allsop of Polaris is the manager of both funds.
